Maternity:

The best time to book a maternity portrait session is from 32 weeks. I’d advise you don’t leave it later than 36 weeks/4 weeks before your due date. Be sure to eat something before your shoot and avoid tight clothing and bras that leave elastic marks on your skin.

Newborn:

The best time to capture that very precious newborn stage is within the first couple of weeks; before 6 weeks of age when a lot of babies develop milk spots. Baby are also renown for scratching their little faces so keep their nails short and mittens on but be aware that I can airbrush out any blemishes. Being a father myself I totally understand that in the first few months things are unpredictable so I encourage a relaxed atmosphere and I never rush a session. If baby needs a feed or time out we can stop and resume when both Mom and baby are ready. Please bring with you one or two changes of clothes for baby and one change of top for yourselves I would also advise one plain black t-shirt for dad if you like the baby on dads arm shot. If you can find plain nappies like the organic range that can be nicer than the patterned commercial nappies. My studio will be warmed to help keep baby comfortable especially when nude and possibly encourage sleep -  these photos are so precious.

Babies & Toddlers:

These are especially fun shoots when baby is very responsive and laughs at anything. If your baby is almost sitting it is advisable to wait a week or two so they can sit for a few minutes longer which gives us another variety of pose.

If your child is about to walk and has taken its first few steps, I suggest book soon its a lovely stage to capture and they have not quite learned that its very clever to run away from you every five minutes. If you can find plain nappies like the organic range that can be nicer than the patterned commercial nappies. Waitrose also sell a plain nappy.

Children:

The best photos are captured when your child is relaxed and having fun so feel free to bring along their favourite toys so we can get some playing, singing and dancing going.  The most beautiful smiles and laughs are the natural ones. It is a good idea to bring one or two changes of clothes to get a bit of variety for your photos. Costumes can be fun too.

Family portraits shoots:

Bring your own ideas for fun poses and feel free to share them and if you cant think of anything we will do the thinking for you. Please bring a change of clothes perhaps one casual outfit, one smart outfit and one coordinated outfit IE all white tops and denims. This shoot is often used as a gift for a special occasion such as a 50th birthday present where large families get together to capture fun moments together at the studio, this includes large families, grandparents, grandchildren, cousins, aunties and uncles. Time is spent paring up couples, families, mothers & daughters etc. and the whole family group together even the family pet!

Park Shoot:

This shoot would usually take place in spring, summer and autumn. Bring your most natural looking picnic blanket and an umbrella the plainer the colour the better. Try not to dress in bulky items especially for the kids as the jacket necks can often cover their faces. Best to wear lots of layers if its cold.  Autumn leaves falling all around is an especially beautiful time to photograph in the park.

After the shoot:

Please allow a week for your images to be put on line for you to view.

I always try to get them out before that.

I will email you once they are done with your password which can be used in the client area of my website.

Your photos will now have basic editing done, I like to give you a wide variety to choose from, I therefore may not edit completely as this would take me ages so I leave it until you have chosen your favourites and then I do the final touches of removing blemishes and back ground marks of those chosen few, this also speeds up the turn over time. Have a look at my packages, make your choice and then email me your chosen numbers at sales@portraitweddings.es

please keep in mind the printed images are to come out of your chosen digital images.

Your order will then be put through once you have made final payment and emailed me a proof of payment or date and reference used for transfer.
